Position Overview:

Flow is seeking highly experienced and highly dedicated Senior 3D Web Designer Interns to join our world-class design organization to bring their creative vision and technical expertise to the design of the Flow Custom Corporate Website. This role is for innovative 3D designers with a deep understanding of advanced 3D modeling, real-time rendering, and web-based interactive experiences. As a key member of our design organization, you will be responsible for creating immersive, high-fidelity 3D assets and interactive elements that showcase our brand, engage our visitors, and push the boundaries of corporate website design.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work on complex, photorealistic assets and interactive modules that will elevate the visual and functional appeal of the Flow custom corporate website. This position demands a meticulous approach to 3D design for web, with a focus on efficient asset management, advanced shader creation, material realism, and the application of procedural modeling techniques to support seamless interactivity. You will develop custom elements that adapt dynamically to user interactions and collaborate closely with developers to ensure these assets load quickly, display smoothly, and maintain high fidelity on diverse devices and screen resolutions.

Your contributions will be important in the creation of a fully interactive corporate website that is optimized for the Web 3.0 landscape. You will craft user-driven 3D experiences where each asset interacts fluidly with input, creating a responsive environment that guides users through Flow’s digital ecosystem. This role requires a deep knowledge of procedural animation, skeletal rigging, and blend shapes to create subtle, realistic animations that enhance user engagement. You will work with developers to integrate these assets through frameworks such as Three.js or Babylon.js, focusing on real-time rendering and responsive design principles. This collaborative effort will ensure that all 3D elements are rendered optimally and in sync with the overall user experience strategy.

A successful candidate will exhibit expertise in 3D design principles specific to web environments, including mesh decimation for polygon reduction, mipmapping for texture optimization, and quad-based retopology to balance asset complexity with smooth performance. Additionally, you will employ advanced asset management techniques like frustum culling, occlusion culling, and instancing to maintain optimal performance and minimal load times. Your technical skills will also extend to efficient asset structuring, such as utilizing hierarchical models and progressive rendering to create an adaptive, visually cohesive experience that dynamically loads based on user activity.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented designer who is passionate about merging visual aesthetics with technical efficiency. You will engage in the production of complex shaders, from diffuse and specular to advanced subsurface scattering and emissive maps, ensuring every material reflects Flow’s dedication to high-quality design. The ability to leverage multi-channel UV mapping, procedural texture generation, and environmental mapping will allow you to create a dynamic, polished visual language for Flow’s corporate website. Your expertise in optimizing for cross-platform performance will help Flow provide a consistent, engaging experience on a variety of devices, from desktop to mobile, ensuring high-fidelity visuals without compromising speed or interactivity.

In addition to creating and optimizing assets, you will work within a cross-functional team, supporting the integration of 3D design elements with the broader website architecture. This includes establishing and maintaining stringent asset version control, developing workflow pipelines that streamline 3D asset management, and ensuring your designs integrate seamlessly with other frontend components. Your deep understanding of responsive rendering will be invaluable in this role as you guide Flow’s website design to reflect our technological sophistication, ultimately providing an intuitive and visually compelling experience for our audience.
